Prescriptions and Refills

What to Do and When

Medication prescription refills may be disbursed to a patient/parent/guardian if requested with at least 2 business days notice. Whenever possible, prescriptions will be faxed to a patient’s pharmacy. For controlled substances, prescriptions can either be mailed to the patient’s home, or picked up at the office during regular business hours. Should an individual other than the patient’s parent pick up such a prescription, this information MUST be shared with the office staff PRIOR to their arrival. Valid identification must be produced prior to leaving the office with the prescription. New patients not yet seen or evaluated by Kids First Pediatrics who request a medication refill may need to make an appointment prior to a prescription being given.

Kids First Mailing Program and Other Options for Mailings

Beginning on September 1, 2007, Kids First Pediatrics will offer our patients several options to receive mailings from Kids First Pediatrics:

  • Kids First will mail any required mailings to a family/patient for a fee of $15.00 per family per year. This includes any prescriptions, medical forms, immunizations (but does not include full medical records).
  • Or, you can provide Kids First with self-addressed stamped enveloped for required mailings. If you require monthly prescriptions, we can keep several self-stamped envelopes in your child's chart for your convenience.
